Drones are delivering COVID-19 in Scotland
As humans maintain social distancing, a drone can offer a safer friendly environment for delivering medical supplies. And as such, one of the innovative ideas, U.K Space Agency intend accomplishing is the use of a drone to deliver COVID-19 testing kits to remote areas in Scottish, making it a more suitable way to make diagnosis faster in a short time frame.
Furthermore, this project has led to the collaboration of two drone delivery companies which in previous time has helped to deploy response to the UK COVID-19 challenge- Wnidracers and Skyports- for the first time. Having a sole aim of establishing a network of secure air corridors for electric drones to navigate via satellite-enabled GPS across the NHS. A share of £1.3 million grant is used to fund this project from the UK Space Agency and the European Space Agency (ESA).
