Mapping the Future: Comprehensive Area Survey Transforms Land Development in Akure
In a landmark geospatial initiative spanning nearly a month, Geoinfotech completed an extensive Area Survey across six distinct 100-acre parcels in Akure, Ondo State. This ambitious undertaking, conducted from February 19 to March 15, 2025, represents one of the region’s most comprehensive land documentation efforts, covering a total of 600 acres with meticulous attention to detail and boundary precision.
Unlike conventional surveys, this multi-site project required a carefully orchestrated approach combining traditional and cutting-edge methodologies. Our field teams deployed RTK-GNSS systems, total stations, and UAV technology in a synchronized workflow to ensure consistent accuracy across all six parcels. The varied topography and vegetation density presented unique challenges at each location, demanding adaptable survey strategies and specialized equipment configurations to maintain data integrity throughout the project’s duration.
Each surveyed parcel underwent boundary demarcation, topographic feature identification, and land use classification. Our technical specialists employed photogrammetric techniques and spatial analysis to process the collected data, transforming raw measurements into comprehensive spatial intelligence. Special attention was given to identifying encroachments, conflicting claims, and undocumented structures that could impact future development plans.
The project culminated in the delivery of high-resolution RGB image data with exceptional clarity and detail, captured from multiple angles and elevations. Additional deliverables included georeferenced site plans, boundary coordinates, area calculations, elevation profiles, and a detailed technical report documenting methodologies and findings specific to each parcel. Each data set was formatted to integrate seamlessly with the client’s existing GIS infrastructure.
This extensive survey has equipped stakeholders with authoritative spatial data critical for informed decision-making in master planning, infrastructure development, and resource allocation. The precise documentation of these six strategic areas provides an essential foundation for sustainable urban expansion and investment planning in the rapidly developing Akure region.
Geoinfotech’s successful execution of this multi-site project demonstrates our capacity to handle large-scale survey operations with efficiency and precision. Our comprehensive approach to area surveys continues to support land development, legal documentation, and urban planning initiatives across Nigeria’s evolving landscape.
