Introduction to Remote Sensing
Introduction to Remote Sensing
Learn how to use Google earth engine and remote sensing software like an expert acquire information about an object or phenomenon (Land, Water, Rock, Settlement or landforms etc.) without making physical contact with the object.
This is done by sensing, recording and measuring its reflected and emitted radiation at a distance (typically from satellite, aircraft or drone). Special cameras collect remotely sensed images, which help researchers "sense" things about the Earth. Remote sensing is applied in RADAR, Laser, LIDAR, polarimetry, aerial photography, hyper spectral imaging, etc.

Skills to learn
- Maps reflect data layers geographically. Remote sensors calculate the distance while GIS systems extract and exchange data with others through applications.
- collect data into the different types of data layers using spatial locations.
- determine, measure, forecast and interpret the collected data. Data analysis to make better choices
- displays and shares the data on mobile phones, tablets, web browsers and other platforms through remote sensors.
Visualize Remote Sensing data for analysis and interpretation purposes, sensor data from various sources has to be processed and combined to produce geometry and color information using GIS.
Represented data in 2D or 3D (maps, webmap).
