Gold Site Suitability Analysis in North Africa

The dark areas with a value of -0.259 indicate no presence of clay minerals while the white areas with a value of 0.199 indicate the presence of clay minerals. This image shows the presence of clay minerals in patches of white little area present around the sample points in red.

 

 

The dark areas with a value of 1.165 indicate no presence of Iron Oxide while the white areas with a value of 2.033 indicate the presence of Iron Oxide. This image shows the presence of Iron Oxide in the white present around the sample points on the north of the image while not so much on the south of the image.

 

 

This is an image of hydroxyl minerals in patches of white around the sample points which indicates the presence of minerals such as gold.

 

 

 

Due to the spectral properties of the minerals, the color composite was created to delineate the locations of hydrothermally altered rocks.

The Yellow polygons show the presence of little or no presence while the red polygons indicate a high presence of minerals.
