different core aspects of GIS:
Day 1: Introduction to Fundamentals and Principles of GIS, and Software Installation – Overview of GIS concepts, applications, and technologies. – Installation of GIS software with step-by-step guidance.
Day 2: ArcCatalog, Geodatabase, and Feature Class/Shapefile Creation – Navigation and usage of ArcCatalog for data organization. – Creation and management of geodatabases. – Development of feature classes and shapefiles for data storage.
Day 3: Coordinate System and Coordinate Formats, Georeferencing, and Digitization – Understanding different coordinate systems and formats. – Techniques in georeferencing and practical exercises in image and map alignment. – Introduction to digitization processes in GIS.
Day 4: Attribute Table (Field Calculation), Join and Relate, GIS Data Query (Select by Attribute and
Select by Location), Cartography and Symbolization – Manipulation and calculation of data within attribute tables. – Effective use of join and relate functions for data integration. – Querying GIS data and applying techniques for spatial and attribute selection. – Fundamentals of cartographic representation and symbolization in GIS mapping.
Day 5: Data Conversion and Introduction to Google Earth Pro – Techniques for converting data between various GIS formats. – Introduction to the functionalities and applications of Google Earth Pro.
Final Day: Revision and Assessment – Review of all topics covered throughout the course. – Assessment to evaluate the participants’ understanding and proficiency in using GIS tools and
