It was recorded that a warehouse in the city capital close to the port held highly explosives material ammonium nitrates and it has been kept for over 5 years. Lebanese capital’s port area, caused by the detonation of around 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate led to the fire outbreak sending a towering plume of smoke into the air, which triggered balls of fire, fireballs rise pulling air and white dome-shaped shock wave shattering windows and damaging buildings which have led to the loss of life and property.

The country  at the moment is still in the state of dilemma as angry citizens clamour for an investigation to know the plot behind the bomblast. The country’s economy has further deteriorated coupled with the global pandemic COVID-19  that is been handled, the capacity of the state is very limited and as such, it cannot cater for the welfare of the citizens. Hospitals are been overflooded beyond the capacity to save lives. Jobs are lost, properties are gone and above all, it has rendered a lot of people homeless. The explosion came at a sensitive time for Lebanon, with an economic crisis reigniting old divisions.
