For the rest of this blog post, I will tell you how we apply GPS in land surveying and its various applications.
The term GPS is an accurate global radio-navigation system that utilizes signals from a network of satellites to provide a globe’s surface location, velocity, and time synchronization.
GPS has been the abbreviation for Global Positioning System was initially intended for military use, in the year 1973 and became fully operational in 1993.
However, its uses have been expanded by civilians since the early 90s and have now become a regular need in commercial applications such as mobile phones, gadgets, course mapping, and of course Land surveying.
The major five (5) uses of a surveyor Gps are;
- It can be used to navigate from point A to point B
- The location of a geographical area can be easily determined with Gps
- Gps enables the easy tracking of devices and human mobility
- Different project results can be displayed on a map with the use of Gps. (mapping)
- Gps creates room for precise timing
During land surveying, our surveyors are able to decode these signals, through the effective synchronization to an atomic clock to determine position, velocity, and time.
Difficulties that usually limit the use of GPS
- If you want to track and observe the satellite, then you need a clear sky.
- You cannot continue GPS surveying underwater, indoors, and underground.
- Generally, more than two Stations depend on the manufacturer in order to get the survey-grade receivers.
- These are very expensive.
The GPS system is divided into three-part.
- The Space Segment,
- Control Segment
- User segment
This is how our surveyors seamlessly get the job done
Geoinfotech certified surveyors are the right team you can trust when handling 3D modeling of any site work.
I say this because no one will like to entrust his/her project to an unqualified surveyor when you can fully ascertain a job well-done with a registered and licensed surveyor.
Our surveyors are trained to deliver quality results from both small and large project work across the globe.
Our innovative processes meet the requirements for roadwork and highway industrial projects while maximizing your profits and efficiency every time.
During surveying, we incorporate the GPS technology into a Total Station to achieve complete survey data. Most of our surveys grade GPS units and achieve centimeter-level accuracies with fairly short occupation times.
As a leading tech company in Nigeria and across the globe, Geoinfotech boasts, registered surveyors capable of delivering quality data at your fingertips.
It’s no news that our results leave you with the confidence you need to bid, organize and complete projects even in a challenging environment.
Our field-tested GPS instruments are one you can always rely on, even in the toughest conditions.
We know that surveying equipment can be quite expensive this day. However, we have affordable GPS surveying instruments that suit your budget.
